Its far easier to fit the newer engine into the older car. MK2 Sporting Had a new cambelt, kit and water pump done at 55,000 miles 6 years ago. The car is now on 75,000. The Starjet has the same rods/crank as yours but the T-Jet has different ones: 1.4 16v Rods - 46743870 Crankshaft - 71718466 1.4 16v Turbo Rods - 55208465 Crankshaft - 71749110 I guess you could buy T-Jet bottom end parts as I'm guessing these will be used on the Abarth and would fit your engine.
